Mae
Mae was at Eckhard Sievers born on September 23rd, 2005. She was my first working dog and with her I took the first steps in paddock keeping. She was extremely keen on the sheep, with tremendous power and a strong focus on the sheep. It blanked out everything else about the cattle and worked like clockwork. She had a strong temper and would have worked till I dropped for me. She loved big open meadows, on which I had trained with her. There all their ears were open for me and we could work together in a relaxed manner.
Today I very much wish that I would have had more experience herding border collies back then. So she could and knew a lot better and has often done her work without me. Nevertheless, I was able to learn a lot from and with her over the years.
Even if we weren't the best team on the sheep straight away, we were twice as good in everyday life. She was my solid rock. Every year we stood outside at the fireworks and watched the spectacle. She was not upset and was kind to everything and everyone. I can look back on many wonderful years with her by my side.
